Banff and Beyond: A Final Salute to Summer

Wildfires. Hurricanes. More wildfires. More hurricanes. Summer 2017 made sure to leave its mark before transitioning into September’s fall vibes. As I headed back up to Banff National Park for a final summer escape, I was reminded of just how pristine and delicate our land can be when Mother Nature strikes.

Wildfire smoke crests over layered peaks in the Canadian Rockies.

But when that Canadian sun does shine and those mountains pop…

Catching Bow Lake in all its perfection.
Along the hike back to Bow Glacier Falls (tucked away in back) where forest turns to arid open land.
A perfectly Canadian touch on the lodge at Bow Lake.
An early rise to catch Lake Louise in its moment of glory before the masses arrive.
A perfectly framed peak along the hike to Mirror Lake above Lake Louise.
Escaping the masses atop Mt. Saint Piran (do this hike!) with a stunning 360 perspective over Lake Louise.
Not a dull view in sight from the summit of Mt. Saint Piran.
Red canoes take to Lake Louise for a peaceful paddle.
Exploring backcountry granite on a hike near Banff.
Soaking in sun and epic blues above Peyto Lake.

Cheers Alberta, thanks for another fun adventure!
